The Objective
This logo was created for an organization on the University of West Alabama campus. The client wanted the organization to be viewed as “a confirmatory, transformative, availing sisterhood.” I aimed to make a design that communicated the spirit of Sustah 2 Sister.
Earlier Stages of the Logo’s Development
Initial versions of what would become the final design had two female figures facing away from each other, with the silhouette of their hair forming a butterfly. However, when the client saw this they mentioned how it appeared the figures were “turning their backs on each other.” In their eyes, this sent a message opposite to what the organization stands for.
